The Players

Jessica Kirkland grew up in Fuquay- Varina, North Carolina with church singing and a love for country music as well as classic rock. A gifted vocalist, she has become a great interpreter of song with a style that is bluesy-passionate and down-home sincere and pitch perfect. Jessica is also proving to be a gifted songwriter.

Willem Lutter learned classical violin at an early age while growing up in Maryland. A jazz guitar major in college and teacher of guitar in the public school system, Will uses many different musical elements in his vibrant fiddling style and can be at home on a mountain porch or in a downtown jazz club.

Billy Powell, from Apex, North Carolina, learned guitar at an early age and later mandolin. Since earning a degree in music education, he's been involved with many bands in different genres as well as teaching private lessons and leading worship music. Recent band affiliation include Cuttin' Grass and Five Piece Bucket.

Barney Rogers is a longtime bluegrass icon in the central North Carolina area. Being a first rate banjo player and award winning songwriter his distinctive style and talents help make the Grassomatics a cohesive unit that can take on driving traditional bluegrass as well as other musical genres.
